Watch Jay-Z announce the renamed “Brooklyn Nets” in an interview (video) on Good Day New York on Fox this morning. The “Mr. Nice Watch” rapper/mogul/part owner of the NBA New Jersey Nets, is bringing the basketball team to his hometown, spreading love (“which is ‘the Brooklyn’ way) and creating jobs in the process. The 18,000-seat Barclay’s Center, the Nets’ future home, which will be completed in approximately one year, served as the backdrop for Jay’s candid conversation with Rosanna Scotto. Regardless of one’s musical tastes, Jay-Z deserves respect for his incredible rags to riches story. And, I think it’s great that he is bringing revenue and pride back to his community.
